Mayflower Homemakers has a solid history on Cape Cod, as
it began in 1993, and was originally formed by Todd and
Janet Murphy. As the Mayflower Homemakers business flourished,
so did the Murphy family and the time constraints became
evident, where the balance between a business life and providing
quality of life for their growing family was a daunting
task. Janet was looking to sell the business to the right
person. She grew the business one client at a time, ensuring
a quality clean was performed each time the cleaners entered
a home. The sale to me was smooth and occurred in May 2007.
My name is Dan Pigott and I was looking for a business model
which would fit my customer service based experience and
Janet Murphy was looking for a person who understands quality
rather than quantity. To us, the sale and purchase of Mayflower
Homemakers became the perfect match.
Since Mayflower Homemakers residential and commercial cleaning
service grows one client at a time and many clients are
gained by 'word of mouth', our business model will remain
as follows:
We will try our best to place the same cleaner in your
home or office every time we are there. We feel having
the same cleaner in your home each week or each
time we clean, a personal rapport and trust between our
client and our cleaner occurs almost immediately. Just as
important, our cleaner begins to understand how our client
wants the home cleaned. This attention to detail is unique
to our business model.
Our vision is a sound one: Remain client focused, concentrate
on our client's individual cleaning needs, and provide client
satisfaction.
Just so you know, we named our company after Mayflower
Beach, located in Dennis because it was voted the
cleanest beach on Cape Cod in the early
nineties. It is still one our favorite beaches on Cape Cod
today.
We hope you enjoyed reading about how we started. We hope
we can grow this business with your help, and with one client
at a time.

BIOS
Lisa is an RN.
Lisa's career has encompassed many aspects of nursing including:
acute care, long term care, home care, managed care and case
management. She has managed personnel, in both the profit
and non-profit arena's, including a Director of Nursing position
at a nursing home and a Special Services Coordinator at a
Visiting Nurse Association. She has a gentle way and kind
spirit and her forward personality makes her a great nurse,
a true friend, and loving spouse.
I have 27 years experience in Fortune 100 and 500 companies,
working in Sales, Sales and Marketing Management, National,
Regional and Global Supply Chain Management, Advertising,
and Operations. My major roles were customer service and
customer satisfaction, team building, coaching, project
management, and professional personnel development. We also
own a small business consulting company - Global Collaborative
Partners, LLC, established in 2004.
We have many nieces and nephews and a wonderful 17 year
old Tabby Cat, named Tiny. We just lost our most cherished old companion "Hollywood",
a beautiful blonde German Shepherd after 15 loyal years.
Our love affair with Cape Cod began as children. My parents
had friends in North Andover, MA, and after visiting with
them, exploring NH, VT, and ME, we were always able to spend
a week on Cape Cod.
In 1996 Lisa and I purchased a small Cape Cod cottage in
Dennisport and began to re-kindle our relationship with
Cape Cod; with all her charms, her beaches, her rich Sea
Captain's history, the Rail Trail, golf courses, tiny shops and the extensive
network of Bed & Breakfast accommodations.
Having spent over 11 years on Cape Cod as shoulder-season
residents in Dennisport, the decision to establish viable
businesses on Cape Cod was easy. Choosing the right one
was where the difficulty came into play. Mayflower Homemakers
was a perfect fit. In 2006, we purchased a year round home
in Falmouth and began the move to Cape Cod.
Our personal vision is a simple one: We seek the Cape Cod
lifestyle: The ability to see water every morning; to meet
real, unpretentious, ruddy, down to earth people who inhabit
the Cape; to meet Cape Cod Characters; to live and to grow
in this community is our dream come true.
